AZ CORPORATION COMMISSION RACES
The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) is an organization most Arizona residents don’t think about much at all. But they should.
The ACC has regulatory authority for utility services and railroad and pipeline systems. It influences Arizona’s economy managing the financial marketplace in Arizona through registration and oversight of securities, securities dealers and salespersons, and investment advisers and their representatives.
For too long it has been a playground for Republicans and their donors – including those, like Arizona Public Service (APS), the commission is tasked with regulating. The commission has five members who are elected statewide. Currently the commission is comprised of two Democrats and three Republicans.
