Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes created the most accessible, safe, and secure voter experience for the 2020 election possible. No longer confined to a single Election Day, Maricopa County voters experienced an Election “Season” from October 7 to November 3rd.

For those who voted in-person, early voting centers opened 29 days before the election; and weekend and evening hours were added as Election Day approached. Every one of the nearly 100 early vote centers was able to print the appropriate ballot for every Maricopa County voter. Voters could show up, check in, collect their ballot, vote, get an “I Voted” sticker, and wear the sticker proudly.

The results speak for themselves. Turnout in Maricopa County was an historic 80.51% - 2,089,563 votes were cast in the county. The statutory hand count found the system was 100% accurate – twice!
